Unusual Car Accident Involves Verizon Wireless Store

A possible domestic dispute has allegedly triggered a dramatic truck crash at a Verizon Wireless store in Great Falls, Montana. According to Great Falls police, officers responded to store alarms at 4:22 a.m. on Sunday, November 23.

Truck Allegedly Turned Around Inside Store

According to the Billings Gazette, surveillance video at the store allegedly showed that the pickup truck first came through one window before the driver turned the vehicle around inside the retail outlet before exiting through another window.

License Plate Remained at the Scene

According to police, the driver of the Ram pickup truck was a 51-year-old male from West Jordan, Utah. Identification was made easier by the fact that a license plate allegedly fell off the vehicle as it careened through the Verizon store. The man's estranged wife reportedly worked at the store, although the store was apparently unoccupied at the time of the crash. Authorities had previously received a report of an argument between the man and his estranged wife.

Suspect Arrested the Following Day

A sergeant with the Great Falls police stated that an arrest was made on during the morning of Monday, November 24. He faces a charge of felony criminal mischief. There was no immediate information made available regarding bail or whether it had been posted. Initial reports estimate over $50,000 worth of damage to the store.

Although this particular incident did not involve bodily injury, it does allegedly highlight the damage that wayward trucks can quickly inflict. When the conduct of a motorist potentially rises to the level of deliberate and negligent behavior, liability may be incurred when injuries and/or property damage occurs. Injured parties may seek compensation for medical costs, possible lost wages and pain and suffering. Civil litigation may be filed in the civil court with the appropriate jurisdiction in such cases.
